Yesterday when I went to PT. I spoke to a nice looking lady who had arrived for her therapy before me.
I had never seen her before.
She went back for her therapy and then I went back with another tech a few minutes later.
As I was ready to leave the administrator came to my treatment room and asked me to wait a few minutes.
All the staff went to the front.
Then the adm. came back and told me someone had hit my car twice, left the scene and they had 2 witnesses.
I thought oh that can't be much but I was worried that the lady left the scene.

My thoughts were I didn't want to cause that lady, they could not tell me her name due to privacy issues, any trouble but I agreed to call the police and let the staff, two of whom had seen the accident, speak to the police.
They did and put in a call to her.
I was totally surprised to know that she would leave the accident.
I would want that to be reported if I had done that.
That would not have been my normal action.
So maybe not her's either.
I just sit and wait.

Mosaic Monday

Mosaic Monday
Shots from my day at the Nazareth Picnic.
There were at least 4 other large activities going on in our town this week-end.

I spent my day here.
Tom and Gracie welcoming guests
Setup under the trees
Displaying my wares, flip flops
Hats
Purses
Picnic dinner in the AC with a good friend
Doing my volunteer time in the Visitor's center
My purchase of Journey Beads
(More about them later)
The oil painting by Marie Becker that my bid won in the silent auction.

I am so pleased with this painting.
It was done by my oil painting teacher and good friend Sr. Marie Becker.
24x30
It will hang above my fireplace in the living room and I will finish the rest of the decor as soon as I decide on what is appropriate.
It represents my logo and philosophy of my blog
Daylily.

Can you believe these are made out of paper.

A huge success

Thanks to Our Lord the picnic was a huge success.
The weather was  great, the food perfect.
A huge crowd with folks from many states and countries due to the sisters world wide connections.

I had my eye on a huge beautiful oil painting in the silent auction and I was able to win that within my budget.
Will post that later.

Let us rejoice and be glad.

Beautiful day for a picnic and Sepia Saturday

Everything is ready to go for today's picnic on the SCN Nazareth Campus.

Booths and stands stand ready to be filled with fun things to help raise money for all the ministries of the
Sister of Charity of Nazareth.
Village II all decorated and ready to welcome visitors to the campus.

Some of the Villagers enjoying the sunny weather.

Stop and say hello to Tom and Gracie.

Gotta go help get things started.

I thought I was going to have to bypass Sepia Saturday but as I was preparing my post about the picnic I am involved in at Nazareth, I came across this old photo of The Auditorium and Library building at the old Nazareth College.

This is the building show above that was converted to the Village II complex that is there today.

No changes outside but many inside.
I could not find the date of the erection of this building but it was added a few years after the initial building erected in 1817.

No building ever stands vacant very long on this campus.
SCN always respond to the needs of the community whatever they may be.
Once the college closed in the early 1970's immediate plans were underway to utilize these building for a retirement center.

As regulars to my blog know I am constantly using photos from this place and since I will be here most of the day it is perfect for SS.

Didn't want my post deleted.

My new bed and room arrangement.

Doing my thing day. and Share the Joy Thursday

Doing my thing day is usually on Wednesday but on Wednesday of this week I was doing just what Doing my Thing Day is all about.

Tying us loose ends.
Making sure all projects are up to date/and or mailed or delivered to their destination.

Finally finished all loose ends and all trims and bands for hats etc. and delivered my items to
Nazareth for the fund raising picnic Saturday.

All the folks who were there when I went on Wednesday, for some reason, loved the UK or UL totes.
Wonder why?
Well I took orders for those.
Business has begun.

All items done by me.
All my designs and creations.
All photos by me and please do not copy without permission.
Thanks

And a few other totes I forgot to take photos of.

Starting next week I will begin a meme called

Doing My Thing Day

It will work just like most all other memes.

A Linky will be set up and one can do a post on doing your own thing, hobby, housework, whatever and link up with others.

I guess it is a brag day.

So sorry all giveaway winners, I am definitely late getting my items mailed out. That is bad business. That is one thing I am doing today for sure.

Also rearranging my bed room which serves as my computer room.
Not ideal but better than having to go upstairs.

What Gives me Joy

Getting things done on schedule and meeting my commitments.

Go here and share some more joy.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Starlets Art Challenge is back

Our original hostess is dealing with some ruff stuff right now so a good blogging buddy is stepping in to be hostess.

This week's starlet is
Lillian Gish

My favorite picture of Lillian Gish

Lillian in Sepia

Portrait of Lillian if her memory is not preserved.
Her resume is one with more accomplishments than any actress so far.
Well known and popular in both silent and talkie movies.

Flowers of the night shots.

Magpie Tales # 79

This photo shows a load of innocent looking
fun loving teens, but one night one of "the girl next door" didn't make it home.
I will never forget her.

to Sue

we knew too late

we laughed and giggled and thought we knew it all
no one but us knew how to love and drink and sneak around
all over town

especially none of those adults

a sedan full of bodies just driving to jive at the Jane Todd Inn

10 miles of road to get us there and 10 to get us back

but oh what a road

thrill hills galore

we knew no fear, we knew no tomorrow we didn't know

one night
tomorrow wouldn't come for one

we knew too late.

Scripture study for today

Gospel for Sunday, August 21, 2011
Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter said in reply, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.

Mt.16: 16-20

Why did Jesus tell the disciples to tell no one that He was the Christ?

My understanding is, as he said one time in the scripture, "My time has not yet come."

Old tree, new tree, there is nothing like a tree

Sepia Saturday
For August 20th 2011
I don't usually remember to check Alan's blog for a possible theme but I did today.

Trees
Not an old tree, but a new tree planted in 1998 when we purchased this property.
It shades our private swing site,
Our place.
A Silver Maple which deposits all kinds of whirly thingies in the spring.
Our SIL is a Construction Contractor and he gifted us with our first 4 trees.
Brought them here, planted them and we were tickled but would not have chosen this tree if we had gone to the nursery.

Who would turn down four free trees?
It is a worrisome thing with all those whirly thingies coming down, according to HH.
I love it.
The other tree we did purchase and it is an Aristocrat  Pear.

No shade is as beautiful as the shade from a tree.

Look up, look down, look all around. It is all for you.

Friday Shoot Out
Theme
Match a favorite photo from your town with a quote.

"Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person's face as you pass on the street: those faces are for you. And the street itself, and the ground under the street, and the ball of fire underneath the ground: all these things are for you. There are as much for you as they are for other people. Remember this when you wake up in the morning and think you have nothing."
Miranda July (No One Belongs Here More Than You)

O men, grown sick with toil and care,
Leave for awhile the crowded mart;
O women, sinking with despair,
Weary of limb and faint of heart,
Forget your years to-day and come
As children back to childhood's house.
~Phoebe Cary
