Put the snow shovels away or not? Good luck or bad luck.

Well today the sun is shining.

 

The snow shovels casting a shadow on the house in hopes of soon going into the garage.

 

Maybe leaving them out in anticipation is bad luck.

Easter is early this year and I have seen it snow on many an Easter Sunday.

 

All new outfits and too cold to wear. LOL

What ever comes we handle it.

many places in our area are.

Sunlit Sunday- Sun shine taking the snow away.

I don't know if 10 inches of snow has slowed my computer down or not, but earlier I could not get my Sunday Post done.

It is finally warming up some.

With the deck door open the indoor flowers are getting a good dose of sunshine.

 It has lessened about 2 inches from this lounge chair yesterday and today.

The path on the deck hubby made so he can get to the bird feeders.

I took the fresh air for a while today and the sun is a great healer.

snow, snow, snow.

Almost 0 visibility even with some help from PicMonkey.

This is my view outside my bedroom window where I am warm and comfortable in my cozy chair and watching movies on my Kindle and being so grateful I do not

have to go outside in this.

Hubby has a 4wheel truck so he just goes right on.

We have been preparing for a BIG snow for a long time and it is finally here.

It is beautiful.

Not much moving outside as far as vehicles on the road.

 We have had squirrels on our bird feeder before, at least just one at a time.

Today we had 3.

They must be having a hard time finding something to eat.

Hubby has gone to town to find something specifically for the squirrels.

An ordinary day snowed in

For some reason I was finding it hard to come up with something to blog about.

Looking over some of my art books, I came across Artful Blogging.

With all the snow and ice here I admit I have not been out a lot having new experiences, not taking many photos, except out my back door.

I am working on some art, not yet finished.

Doing some cleaning and decorating for Christmas.

Getting your whites white... 

and I am not talking about the laundry. 

White Balance (WB) in photography has to do with the accuracy of color in your image.

You might notice an image has a blue or orange cast to it..

for example the white snow might look bluish.  

If you increase saturation, 

you will increase the color casts as well.

I found the setting on my camera. 
The snow on the pot is white and the snow not shaded is white.
Hope this is it.

The snow on the roof is not real white but is shaded. Wonder if that makes a difference.

Seems as if my photos did not show up at first hope this gets it.

I miss Barry too and Ginger and B&B and Pauline come on back when you are ready.

Led blindly by their teachers, schoolchildren gripped makeshift lifelines -- sheets, towels, rugs, a school bell rope -- as they plunged desperately into the blizzard of 1888.
"It came from the northwest with the force of a hurricane. The wind bitterly cold. The snow fine, sharp and penetrating," survivor Ernest Nyrop of Neligh wrote years later. "It was like the finest flour and smothering in its action making breathing very difficult."
The blizzard struck on what began as an unusually mild day. The temperature in Valentine on Jan. 12, 1888, fell from 30 degrees in early morning to 6 degrees below zero by mid-afternoon, and the cold hit a bone-chilling 35 below the next two nights.
Farmers tunneled into haystacks to stay alive. Teachers tied young students to ropes so they wouldn't wander while stumbling through driving snow. Men and women groped houses in search of doors.
Raging winds banged shutters, battered walls and shook buildings. Some believed it was an earthquake. The noise caused young children to scream and brought older students to tears. It lasted 12 to 18 hours.
No one knows the exact death toll. Historians estimate at least 235 perished.

Mr. Big Red-Share the JOY

This photo will not win any awards but the

JOY 

of 

watching

the 

birds, especially the 

cardinals, is our goal here.

They are such a beautiful bird and when it snows they appear even more beautiful.

That is because they show up so bright against the white snow, or in this case, against the neckedness of the tree branches.

Thank goodness I see JOY in such simple things or 

I would have cabin fever.

Churning atmosphere up above cause hard hitting hail down below.

Snow and wind make for nasty winters.

Spring rains and sun bring the early flowers.

Right on the edge of tornado alley.

We have it all and just go with the flow.
