Obsessed with hummingbirds.

The ruby-throated hummingbird is a wonder of migration. Every winter it makes an amazing journey. Some have been known to make a journey of 2500 miles or more, from Alaska to Central America. Because  of it, the hummingbird is a symbol for accomplishing that which seems impossible. It will teach you how to find the miracle of joyful living from your own life circumstances.

We are finally getting our share of hummingbirds at our feeder.
They are not pink but I cannot help but share.

I hung these petunias near the feeder to help attract them.
They were slow getting to our area as everyone has mentioned it.

The very first hummer we saw this year.

I got this shot one day while sitting on my deck.
I printed it out and plan on painting it and putting it on canvas.

End of summer rehabs

Cooler temps and a couple of days of rain and I had not spent much time on my deck piddling with my plants.
Most of them were gone anyway.
I had a Calla Lily that we got for Easter outside for the warm months and after trimming and preparing it to bring it inside, I found this
A new baby bloom.
I love it.
Also this pot of petunias had dried up but has come back in the last few weeks.
With the fresh rain drops on it, it is a great pick me upper.

2nd Saturday Photo Challenge-theme-Composition Variations and Say it Saturday.

Theme this week is
Composition Variations.

Yard Art

The pansies take the stage.

Sweet little lady steps up.

Love the detail of her hat and smile.

The idea is to change positions and angles and lens settings to then be able to choose the photo you want to present.

I admit I was not well aware of this but do see the advantages.
Move around and get different shots.

Share the JOY Thursday

Weather has been so nice here.
We need rain right now but it is on it's way.
Enjoying trapsing around my yard looking for subjects to snap.

 I love this shot.
From below the flower.

A great shot like this gives me
JOY
not to mention the beauty of the bloom.

Found this little momma nibbling the soft sour grass.
Tom loves to watch the rabbits in our yard.
She has a nest nearby and we see her try to sneak to the nest.
What JOY it brings us to be retired and have a lovely safe place to just spend our time doing what we enjoy.
Sometimes all is just quiet and we just watch savoring the JOY of the simple life.

More flowers on Mosaic Monday

Mosaic Monday visits the whimsical in the garden.

We finally got a good rain.
Before that I was kept running around watering the flowers at least twice a day.

Crepe Myrtle

Toward the end of summer things begin to look plush just next to being overgrown.

Petunias
Sweet peas
Moss roses
Zinnias

I love the touch of blue on the patio.
