How to prepare your plants to bring indoors for the winter.

Preparing your plants to bring indoors.

Give them a good washing with soapy water.
Rinse well either under a running water facet or the hose outdoors.
Give them a little shake to get rid of the water drips.

I now have three plants to maintain inside this winter.

All of them need sunlight.

The only sunlight that comes in is from the south which is the kitchen and dining room side of our house and that is where the most windows are.
The door to the deck has a glass storm door.

We keep that open nearly all the time when the sun is shining.
This will be the first winter for all three of these
plants.

I have high hopes for them

Calla lily has 3 new blooms.

 The baby

After a good cleansing with soapy water this
geranium came indoors and has two new blooms.

Pink geranium has not put out a new bloom, but I am sure it will.

No baby grands now days so I will just tend these plants for my caregiver needs.

End of summer rehabs

Cooler temps and a couple of days of rain and I had not spent much time on my deck piddling with my plants.
Most of them were gone anyway.
I had a Calla Lily that we got for Easter outside for the warm months and after trimming and preparing it to bring it inside, I found this
A new baby bloom.
I love it.
Also this pot of petunias had dried up but has come back in the last few weeks.
With the fresh rain drops on it, it is a great pick me upper.
