Pink Saturday-A bead for Charity work.

I know, this is not pink, but I feel in the pink when I wear it.

"Retired Nurses make the Best Grandmothers."

A scarf and hat I made for a cancer patient.
Sponsored by the Pink Scarf Project.

Under the scarf a baptismal blanket for our first great grandson.

The best selling set of jewelry that I make for the missions of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.

The white beads are made out of paper from the pages of the magazine "Journey" and we call them Journey Beads.
They go all over the world.

It is my ministry for the missions.
I used to go help in the mission field and do other things for my work, but have gotten a little too old for travel and lifting etc., so this is my donation to the cause.

I feel so blessed to be doing this.

Doing my thing day and linking to two memes

Doing my thing day.

 I call these Journey Totes.
They are made of plarn (plastic yarn)
and trimmed with

I call this bag
"Peanut butter and Chocolate"
because of the colors.

They are all lined and have two pockets.

These will go on the Journey Crafts website to
help raise money for the SCN missions.

This one is named.
"The Blue and The Gray."

Have several basic ones made just waiting to see how these will sell and if they are liked.

So far there is only jewelry on that site.

Finally someone I know is going to have a baby.
Our daughter's best friend is expecting in April
Working on this afghan for the new baby.
WooHoo.
I love doing afghans.
I can just get lost in that work.
Calms my nerves.

Being able to stay active brings me much joy and sharing makes it even more joyful.

And
Tea Time with Ruth.

Having........Passion by +AZO in my real china teacup.

Feeling........Grateful the storm we had on Wednesday was no worse than it was but grieving for the folks in other states lost in that storm.

Thinking..........I do believe that humans have caused the changes in the weather patterns that we are experiencing around the world.
The pollution, chemical and matter that our society causes to rise to the stratosphere has an effect on the routes and formations of clouds and winds that make up our climates.

The only way I'd worry about the weather is if it snows on our side of the field and not theirs.
Tommy Lasorda

I get a laugh out of this quote.

Well this is what we got.

Well it did snow last night but this is what we actually got.
Reference to yesterday's post.

It is now 11:30 AM and every bit of it is gone.

When I was practicing on trying for macro shots again yesterday this is what I found in my flower pot from  last spring.
Pansy.
They don't mind the chilly weather as long as the sun is shining.
That is how I feel.
Got a surprise call from my MD office yesterday.
I forgot some of the lab tests have to be sent away so I was surprised when they called and told me my cholesterol and triglycerides were elevated.

Not  totally surprised, after all nearing 75 is getting on and the diabetes is just one of several things that can mess up as one ages.
She wanted to put me on two different medications and because the values were not out of sight I pleaded to try to manage without meds.

You know diet and exercise.
I do hate to take medicine.

So here I am on my oatmeal etc, again.

On to something more fun.
I am making totes decorated with Journey Beads to sell to raise funds for the missions of the Sister of Charity of Nazareth.
If you follow my blog you have seen totes I made for the summer picnic and the ones made from the brown and blue plastic bags were the best sellers.

I call this bag Peanut Butter and Chocolate because the trim reminds me of peanut butter.

The bag
The lining and preparing the inner pocket.
This material is like suede but as little as I paid for it I doubt if it is suede.

This is the trim I made for the tote.
Not sure where I am going to put it.

Probably on the flap as it needs to be heavy enough to stay down to keep the tote closed.

My items are not on there yet but as soon as I am finished with two they will be featured.
