Friday Shoot my Town-theme-Vintage

I cannot count the number of antique shops in my town.
This is one of the most favorite vintage things I have seen in any of them.

Day uniforms and Sunday uniforms worn at Nazareth College in the 30s and 40s.
I found them in the Heritage Hall Museum on the Nazareth Campus in my home town.

St. Joseph Infirmary Nursing Program was one of the first and the very best by reputation in the state of Ky.
I so wanted to go there but did not get to out of high school.
My 3 best friends did go.

I wanted to wear this uniform and this cap so bad.
I did go to nursing school later in my life but an aunt that I so admired wore this uniform and cap.
She was my ideal nurse.

I found this in the Nazareth Heritage Hall Museum also.

I also wanted to wear one of the red flannel lined capes too, but by the time I graduated from nursing school, these were purely vintage.
Could not even by one.

 That is okay,
the nurses cap I wore is vintage now too.

I even consider myself vintage now.LOL

That buggy is in amazing shape. Love the uniforms too.

What a wonderfully ornate baby carriage. In my imagination the nanny would have had to pass a test before being allowed to push it. Can't imagine an ordinary mother pushing it! Love your nursing ensembles, too, Peggy. I was trying to explain to Georgia, without much success, about the little caps that nurses used to wear. She had me stumped when she ask, "Why?"
Great shoot out!

I love the old pram and think it was neat when nurses wore those hats. It would be goofy now, but cool way back when.

Those caps gave great authority. you didn't mess with anyone wearing the cap and that white starched uniform. no sir. I remember my sister going to nursing school and being so proud of 'winning' the cap. love the carriage and Yes ordinary mothers pushed those through the park, how much better than those huge bulky contraptions they use now. WE are not Vintage, my mother maybe....we are only classics...
