Sunlit Sunday

Sunlit Sunday

Lavender in my kitchen window.

About 1 1/2 years ago on Mother's day, one of my daughters gave me lavender seeds.
I keep them in the sun and indoors until the past summer when I put them outside in the sun until it got hot.
They have been in this window now for about 6 months.
I am hoping for blooms by this Mother's day.
My info says it takes about 2 years to get blooms from seeds.
I have a place waiting for them outside as soon as they are strong enough.

 Love the lavender.

"My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment
and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then
you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie
down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet." (Proverbs
3:21-24 NIV)

My favourite scent. There are lavender farms on the island, and a great way to spend a summer afternoon is to visit the fields.

I would love to experience first hand fields of lavender such as the one in you photo.

Wow, what a beautiful field of lavender. I love lavender too, but my house doesn't have good enough light or sun for any plant, and my cats are plant chewers so I haven't had a house plant for years. But I used to enjoy going to shop for plants walking up and down the rows of choices at the store.

What patience you have to grow lavender from seed! I have some plants in the garden. Fortunately, they're hardy enough to survive the winter. It's so nice to brush my hand over the leaves in the summer and smell the wonderful fragrance. Thank you for linking to Sunlit Sunday!

What a lovely field of lavender. I have a plant in my garden and just love the aroma from it. Imagine what the aroma would be like from a whole field. Good luck with your indoor lavender.

I might not have fields of lavender but I have many plants growing at LC. I created a hedge out the front and a small one by the tea house; such a wonderful fragrance.
