Doing My Thing Day-New project

 Doing my thing day.

My newest project is moving along pretty fast.

I love the look of this.
Straw?
Leather?
Nope

 Kroger bags in this case.

Any plastic bags can be used.

They are spread out.

Folded in fourths.

Ends cut off

The next step is a little more complicated.
If anyone is interested I will make a video tutorial.
Just indicate in your comment and I will make one.

It works up pretty fast and surprisingly very sturdy.

Just used a regular crochet pattern.

I am going to make this 24" long, fold it in half, join at the sides and make some handles.
Insert a pretty complimentary lining and I will have a great tote bag and have done my share for recycling.
I did not count how many bags I used. Next time I will definitely count them.

The Kroger bags are certainly a great color! Very classy looking shade! My friend Linda made these by the dozen over 10 years ago and they sold very well! It looks like they are making a comeback!

I have not crocheted with plarn before, but I think it's a wonderful thing to use for bags or hats - something water repellent and durable. I saw how to cut the strips in a You Tube tutorial once and put it on my mental "to-try list" ... glad yo're enjoying your new hobby! I want to try it for myself one day.

Thanks for sharing this interesting post!
