Vintate Thingie Thursday - Teapot cozied up

Today is Vintage Thingie Thursday and I am late getting my post up.

This is a vintage teapot given to me by one of my daughters for my birthday many  years ago.
I may have featured it before.
It is John Haddock & Sons
England
Royal Vitreous.

Every time I use this I burn my hand trying to hold the handle and pour the tea.

Several folks have told me that I need a teapot cozy.
Well, after getting into crocheting again around Christmas I have run into many great patterns.
Also I had lots of yarn left over.
So using this cotton yarn, so that it could be washed, I made a cozy for this teapot.

Ties around the spout hold the cozy on.

Ties across the handle help secure the cover on.
The strap goes through the handle and buttons on.
Enlarge to see the button.
Friends Forever.
I only had the yellow and white cotton yarn but I would like pink and white for this teapot, so I need to go shopping.
The pattern is for 4, 6 or 8 cup teapots.

Been a lot of tea drinking going on around here with all the cold, snow and dreary days.
Tea is good for the body and soul.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I will make you a cozy.
This cozy could be decorated with charms, beads, flowers or any other attachable cutsey thing.
Leave a comment if interested and we can e-mail about the specifics.

Drinking: Earl Gray with sugar and skim milk.

Thinking about: Spring. Sort of tired of snow and gloomy skies.

Grateful:  For the fact that I can feel all my aches and pains. LOL
Working on: Physical Therapy for a bad shoulder.

Loving: Among may things, Ruth's lavender flower and teacup.

Some great blogs and fine women to meet.

Peggy, that cozy is so cute. This teapot was one of our biggest sellers in our shop. I so love the design.

We had a fabulous blizzard yesterday, 15" of that gorgeous fluffy stuff ... yippee!

Have a great day ~

The only kind of cozy I knew about is the kind that goes over the whole pot from the top. I would think that a potholder would be better for a hot handle.

Even teapots need to be cozy in winter.

I love your little tea pot. I am not familiar with the little "cozy" holder tho. However, it looks like it would serve a good purpose.

Hi, Stopping by today for "tea" with you. :)

I know what you mean about snow. It'll soon be over. And the ocean theme of your blog is simply heavenly. I grew up on the Atlantic and miss it terribly. Your background made me sigh. :)

Blessings,
Christine

That cozy is adorable! I love my cozy, but it may be time to make a more brightly colored one ahead of spring.

I have two cozies one larger and one smaller. Both are quilted, the larger is Queen Victoria, I think. I'll have to look at it tonite. Mostly I drink my tea so fast it doesn't need a cozy. Your crochet cozy is nice. And some time I am going to get to this on Thurs. I have a hard enought time keeping up with Sepia Sat. It fascinates me how bloggers can do the daily grinds...:)
