Pink Saturday and finely sunny outside.

Finely the sun has been shining a few days and I can only think of flowers.
Still waiting to plant my annuals.
The one still inside waiting.
 I just nurse them along.
Back into the jewelry making for charity.
This jewelry is made using rolled paper beads.
They are made from the pages of "The Journey" , a quarterly magazine published by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.
I make the jewelry and it is sold in the Visitor's Center at Nazareth for funds for the missions.

Friday Shoot my Town-theme-Sparkle

I found many things that sparkle but did not know how to show them well on the camera.

The strobe light where our town roller skates.

GD's rings.
Yes I dared to use Pic Monkey on this one.

A crystal on my flower pot.

My homemade jewelry.

Mosaic Monday old jewelry newly found

Mosaic Monday

Since I have become interested in jewelry making and made some pieces for Christmas gifts, I have been digging around in my storage places looking for old jewelry to take apart and use for new pieces.
I came across some pieces that I had not worn for a long time and in fact would be considered out of style by my girls and grands but they are not just the every day stuff.
So I decided to use some of them for my mosaic this week.

These pieces are not of real value but there is a lot of sentiment attached to them.
Don't think I will be taking them apart for spare parts.

Starlet Challenge- Greer Garson and Doing my thing day.

Starlet Challenge this week is
Greer Garson

Greer Garson was working at an advertising agency at age 24, when she decided to start a career as a full-time actor. While playing in "Old Music" in London, she was discovered by MGM's Louis B. Mayer who gave her a contract the following day. Her first part was in Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939), which gave her an Oscar nomination for best actress, followed by the part as "Elizabeth Bennet" in Pride and Prejudice (1940). In 1942, she played the title role in Mrs. Miniver (1942), a WWII morale-booster, for which she won an Oscar as best actress. Although not happy with always being given the same kind of roles, she stayed with MGM until 1954. After this, she made few appearances in films, although her portrayal as Eleanor Roosevelt in Sunrise at Campobello (1960) gave her another Oscar nomination.

She was one of my favorite in the late 40's and 50's.
I was at that impressionable age and her portrayal of strong women made quite an impression on my young mind.
I wanted to be that kind of woman when I grew up.

Doing my thing day.

As I continue to work on my items for the summer picnic craft booth I am finding amazing colored bags and cutting them up to supply my stash when I go on line with my Etsy shop.
Yes I am going to give it a stab.

Trying to learn to make paper beads and jewelry.

The latest projects for the picnic.
I call these Toy Totes.
I filled each bag with water toys.

These totes are made with heavier plastic bags along the bottom to give them more stability.

Double click to see the items.

This is the latest purse I just finished.

Doesn't leave me much time for visiting my blogger friends but it will soon be finished.

Doing a little container gardening also.
