Thursday and lots of things to do.

Soulful Friday.

In the last few years I have not been well and this year I have under control and feel so much better.
Last year my hubby and I were both sick and did not even get to celebrate on Christmas Day.
We had our family day later.
However, this year we are both feeling so much better we are getting to do some of the things we used to do.
Our family has grown so there is no way we can all gather at one certain time for a meal.
Instead, we will have open house from 1:00 PM until everyone has had a chance to come by.
Most of our family now have two families to visit on holidays so this way each can come which ever time best suits them.
I have done some decorating and crafty things.
The big thing I am working on is a bejeweled Christmas tree.

I am still working on it and it is amazing how a photo helps me get the pieces in the right place. I will use this technique to critique where things need to be.
As you can see exactly where I need to rearrange some items.
Next the gluing will begin.
Hope to have it ready to go on my mantle piece by
Sunday.

My mom has one she made years ago. Beautiful. I like it on the black background. Glad you are feeling well enough to enjoy this year.

That is a wonderful way to use costume jewelry. I have tons. I did wear my mother's poinsettia pin today while out shopping. I am so happy that your health has improved and that you feel much better this year than last. Gives me hope! =D I remember your open house! A good way to cope with all the logistics of multiiple family commitments.
