Soulful Friday

Soulful Friday

What have you noticed around about as you went on your daily activities.
Something that touched your soul or made you stop and think deep thoughts.

Most of us just take for granted the people and things we see in our daily lives for granted.

Susie Mae has a blog party where one can talk about such things.

Our yard man was here today trimming all our shrubs and tidying up for the coming winter.

As I was  looking over what was going, gone I noticed this lonely Sunflower.

It is directly below our 2 birdfeeders that we keep filled with sunflower seeds for the birds.
For years, when we first started feeding the birds, every end of summer we had a  large crop of sunflowers as the result of sunflower seeds falling to the ground.

When I saw this one lonely sunflower, I realized we had not had sunflowers for several years. We had just gradually gotten used to them not being there.
What happened, we wondered.

As we watched closer we noticed woodpeckers, squirrels, and every kind of bird around was hitting our birdfeeders.
Because the smaller birds only visited us in the early years many seeds fell to the ground and therefore a nice crop of sunflowers followed.

Looks like at least one sunflower seed found the ground as here we have the proof.

Made me think of good times and bad times and as the Bible teaches us a seed must fall on good ground to thrive.
Never miss a lesson from our Creator, even if you are not looking.

I get rogue sunflowers in my flower pots under the bird feeders sometimes. They don't grow very big though.
