Grand Social-How to stay married 53 years?

Well tomorrow is our 53rd wedding anniversary.
Been parents for 52 years and grandparents for 33.

If someone were to ask me what is the secret to staying married for 53 years, I would have to say
"I have no idea."

I do know that staying true to a commitment is important to both of us and that belief has enabled us to deal with any issue that has invaded our lives.

We find ourselves with a wonderful family and home.
Freedoms, security, and yes love.

Everyday there is a challenge as we grow old and have to deal with certainties of  aging.

There have been many times when one or both of us felt like

"I can't take this anymore."

Whatever 'this' may have been.

God has blessed us with a wonderful family and faith has been the glue that held us together.

Never look back.
Never hold a grudge.
Everyday say "I love You."

Well I guess that is a little advice.

Big congratulations to both of you. An accomplishment for sure in today's world. We are on our 46th year and say it's because both of us did not give up at the same time.

How very wonderful and what a hopeful story of true love, and a full family to share it all with. You really can't ask for anything more. All the times we experience the "this" or the that's" in our life well they just serve as more bonding for a solid foundation.
