Pleasures of childhood
Dreaming about when I grow up.
I grew up around horses and could not wait to be able to ride.
Ride I did and fell off backwards and broke my coccyx
(tail bone) the very first time.
I kept on riding for a long time.
These are our sons horses and our little grandson with aspirations of being a cowboy.

I fell off a horse a couple of times myself but oh how I wished to have one that I could ride but we did not have any. You are very lucky that you had horses.
I forgot how I loved horses too. Love it QMM, and all your site goodies I see here!
I always wanted a horse when I was a kid, Lucky you! Except for that tailbone of yours:)
I fell off...was thrown off...a horse the very first time, too. The difference between you and me? I never tried it again.
I had totally forgotten about my escapades with horses - probably just as well. Love the best friends shot. Having great girlfriends was one of the great pleasures of my childhood. (Amd still is in later life!)
What a beautiful photo of the little one in the field. When I was a child, one of my aunts had horses and I loved seeing them. I still remember Copper, with the copper-coloured coat and white mane and tail.

I think I am the only person in blogland who wasn't fascinated with horses as a child. I didn't like the smell of the barn and I am allergic to hay and grasses! I avoided them like the plague!
No big farm here with horses during my childhood, so the first experience then was when I went to a zoo!
