Friday Shoot My Town- Bridges of.....

The bridges of Nelson County

This is a small rural community so you will see only rural bridges.

This is just an example of a bridge over a culvert in my neighborhood.

Our neighbor's new bridge over his lake.

For many years an old covered bridge set abandoned on a farm just outside of town.
The owner had built a new road to his new home and tore the old covered bridge down.
He constructed this new barn, painted it red, set his dad's old 1930s sedan at the entrance of the bridge and it has been the talk of the town since.

There are no huge spectacular steel bridges in my county.

On another note.
The bridge on my new violin.

Go here for more bridge photos.

The rural or smaller bridges are more interesting than the hugh steel ones. Love your post. I especially love your header.

Charming! Love the new covered bridge. Do you play the violin? I'm wondering if I knew this before and forgot...possible. Anyway, my violin needs a new bridge and a new lots of things so I'm intrigued by that.

I love the covered bridge. What a difference the bridges between your rural and my urban environs! I added your link to linky...silly me, I set linky for the wrong date!

Yes Vee I play the violin. I left my good one, which was very old, in my car one day and the heat caused the back to come loose and then everything popped loose. I had been without one for a few years. I have a new one now. Need to get back on track with it.

You have such charming bridges in your town, I love especially that red covered bridge.

I think your little bridges are delightful. Like around here, a big, grand bridge would look so out of place. I do like the new use for the old covered bridge, too.

how wonderful that you play the violin - I have always wanted to play the drums.... guess I am too lazy to try to learn now, but for you to go back and freshen your skills is a great idea. I am in an urban enviornment but no great bridges.... have a great week.

These images are wonderful. I love bridges and that one the man rebuilt and parked his father's 1930 sedan beside is simply charming. You play the violin as well? Your talents are simply limitless, my beautiful friend. Hugs to you always. Mina

I think the violin bridge should win the most creative definition of bridge award. Great to have a chance to see blogs.
