Welcome back Alan, Little Nell did a great job while you were gone.
This is entitled Autriche Vienne
This is entitled
"Anything for baby Elizabeth.
Margaret with sun in her eyes."
That is Betty and Peggy.
I worshiped that beautiful person until the day she died at age 32.
A nice pram although I don't think we called them prams.
This was taken in 1940 in front of our grandparents home.
We lived in the last house visible on the left in this photo.
You can see our mom and grandmother in the shadows.
Don't you just love the edging around the photo of those days.
My grandparents house was directly across from St. Dominic Church.
We went every time the door were opened.
My grandmother was the sacristan.
When we were older we would go with her and help her change all the old candles in the little red cups and gather up all the linens for my gm to laundry.

The "imperfection" of this shot with you shading your eyes makes this picture just perfect. I like the stories of what was around this little scene.
What a sweet photo of you and your sister. Simply adorable. I know losing her was one of the defining moments of your life...
What a wonderful photo to have in your family collection.

Your photo is so precious! I too lost my one and only sister...and even with all my pushing (as a rather young girl!) my mother never had another baby.
We have both bright sunshine and long shadows in this photo, Peggy. You must miss Betty terribly. "Happy birthday" to your lovely daughter, Rachel. Jo
What a precious photo! Truly a family treasure.
That buggy looks like it was an antique even when you were young.
Sweet photo of you & your beloved sister. I'm sorry to hear you lost her so young. Hope your lovely daughter has a nice birthday.
I see you had a similar pram as in one of Kristin's pics.
Lovely photograph!!

I see you had a similar pram as one shown in Kristin's photographs, the 1930 one.
Lovely picture of the two of you.
Another wonderful post. Very moving too. A great idea giving a description of the surroundings. Lovely memories.
Thank you for the compliment Peggy, and I’m glad you got your blog back to normal again! This photo of you and your sister is precious for so many reasons and I can see why you treasure it. It’s an unusual and beautiful pram isn’t? I think we should all give Alan permission to put this week’s contributions in a book; there have been so many lovely ones and with such engaging children.
Much more fun to see you shading your eyes rther that squinting to see.
Happy Birthday to Rachel. {My daughter is a Rachel too}
This buggy (we called them buggies) is very similar to the one with my mother and her younger brother in 1930. Two differences I see are the "window" was smaller and the lines of the wicker were more diagonal in yours. Probably the more updated version. I wouldn't be surprised if the buggy in my photo had served for the older children born in the 1920s as well. Wonder if i could get more info by googling...
Happy Birthday, Rachel. Loved your picture and memories, Peggy. How neat that you guys lived so close to your Grandparents.
