Thursday things

Thursday, Thursday, what a good day to be
Joyful
and
Have a cup of tea.

Found myself busy this week having fun.

I remember it being said many years ago and when in nursing school that people revert to childish behavior in their "Golden Years."
Childish behavior was mentioned in the list of signs of dementia.
Wow, I have lots of childish behavior.

I am a Button Floozie.

Playing and washing my new jar of buttons to use in art projects.

I am a Bag Lady.

Collecting and recycling plastic shopping bags to crochet into resalable items.

A Mess Maker.

Using my fingers to paint birthday cards.
This is for my brother who is an avid fisherman.
See the fish?

Working on an ATC swap card.
Don't want to show too much, the recipient might drop by.
Doing all these things in one day.

Tea Talk with Ruth and friends.

Having.............that Passion tea in my favorite china teacup.

Feeling..........very good about walking and staying on my diet.

Thinking...........about what I had  always heard how the elderly sometimes have a second childhood.
Well I thought of that as a sign of dementia and vowed that would not happen to me.
But having fun, such as doing things children love to do and doing childish things are two different things.
If you read my Share the Joy above you will see all the fun things I do during my day, however I do not have dementia. My mind is clear as a bell.
Wish my old joints and bones were doing as good.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you
your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:26 NIV)

Believe me, you don't have to worry about dementia, whomever you are ... because I can't remember. What is it I was saying?

Good for you for walking and staying on your diet! Having fun with all your projects doesn't sound childish to me, it sounds like a recipe for a happy life.

I prefer child-like to childish, myself ! Child-like wonder and joy of discovery. How wonderful that many of us grown up and find it again !
Play on and happy Thursday !

No...you are preventing dementia by keeping busy and staying in touch with your creative self.

Well there are some children over here at the Santos Times who are jealous of all those lovely paintbrushes, and all those wonderful buttons, and getting to FINGER paint without a fussy mother hovering saying "don't make a mess!"

God bless you in your happy endeavors.
