My photos are not old this week but it was fun to retrieve and post about them.
No game is more fun than with grands.
When our grands were small they would be with us a lot.
They would stay with us when their parents were to be out of town or just for the fun of it.
We had a lot of fun with all of them.
These two probably spent more time with us after we were retired so we had more time to actually play with them.
These are some of our younger grands.
Our oldest daughter married young and her three daughters are much older and not into playing games with Papaw and QMM at this time.
This young lady is ready to enter collage to be a

HH loved to play checkers.
He felt he had a responsibility to teach them to play.
He would never let them win on purpose.
Would make me angry but he said they would never learn if he did that.

She would often play vet for her brother who liked to pretend he was a monkey.
This silly nilly will soon enter college to be an engineer so he can follow his father into the family business.
Now HH and I were playing Uno with these two but I promise you we were not holding our cards with our feet. LOL
These two loved to play explorer.
Here they are in their tent with their lunch and notice the eye glass at the foot of the one going to study engineering.
The one on the right is planning to study in the field of medical forensics.
She did an internship in the U of L Cancer Research Center this past summer.

The Uno pics bring back memories of us with our kids. The grands are still too young.

We play quite a few games with our grands too. And I never let them win. Unfortunately they can beat me anyway these days.
What a happy game post! I learned a new and exciting way to play cards and eat ice cream at the same time too! Using toes! So cool....checkers is such a fun game any time of the day if you ask me! It never grows old does it!
Hilarious photos of the grand-monkey and grand-vet. I loved playing Checkers with my granddaddy too -- every afternoon after school! And then he'd drive me to the drug store for a coke and penny candy. The Uno game reminds me of the summer we had an exchange student from Spain. Even though she had studied English many years, she quickly learned she wasn't as good at it as she thought. In those early days of little communication, we play a lot of Uno.

There is a lot of concentration going on in the checkers games. I'm surprised neither of the uno players is going into podiatry:-) Fun photos.

I vaguely remember playing Uno but could never have got into contortions like them. Good luck to them both in their careers. Beautifully matural photos.
Congratulations on a beautiful and accomplished family. And how wonderful for them to reflect on how far they have come in 10 years! I agree, never a good idea to let kids win. Resilience after losing is so important, in all ways big and small.

I used to play checkers and my Dad taught me to play Rummy with cards and he would never let me win either. Said I had to learn to play.
An old habit of mine as I often pick up things with my toes, and given the state of my spine, a talent I relish by now. Though, no, I don't play cards, so, no toes at the table...
Your grandkid at the research center: purely research, or she got to meet the patients? That gives a whole different perspective when you have to deal with the human factor.
