Another blessed Christmas and New Years.
The Memory Keeper
Every Christmas it is tradition for my grands to put a bow on my head after all the gifts are opened.
They are my greatest gifts and
they tell me I am theirs.

This photo was taken at Christmas last year 2010.
When the grands were little they would do a reenactment of the Christmas story and dress up.
Now that they are all too big, as they say, they will not do it any more. Our grown daughters decided to do it.
It is important to us all that we never forget the
Reason for the Season.

The guys just have no sense of the important things in life sometimes.

Playing the "Dirty Santa" game.
In case you never played,
each person who brought a gift to play draws a number.
All the gifts are placed on the table and #1 chooses a gift. Now that person has an advantage.
You will see why.
#2 can choose a gift from the table or take the gift that #1 has and so on.
At the end #1 has seen all the gifts and gets to make his/hers final choice.
There is almost an atmosphere of Survival here as couples and close sisters and nieces send signals around and there is usually one particular gift everyone wants.
I do not play since I am the Memory Keeper and I have too much fun watching them.
The "Dirty Santa" is off limits to those under 21, since the adults want to have a little silly fun.
So the grands have their own table and game in the garage when it is warm enough.
It was fairly warm this year and Spoons it was.

I don't think we called it Dirty Santa but I played that once as a youth with my church group. We were limited to very inexpensive gifts, and my Bullwinkle was the hit. Eventually, Cuppa went home with it. Strangely, this was before Cuppa and I became a couple. When I eventually visited her place, I was surprised to see him sitting there.
So many great photos and memories in this post. Brings a smile to my face thinking back on all the "plays" my girls put on. The ribbon fascinator is a good look for you!

What a great family fun holiday. I loved seeing all the various members and what they did. It's great they think of you as you do them. I have a great grandson that we share a very bonding love. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting.
