The Year of Surprise
Why I picked that name I have no idea.
Since we are beginning the sixth month of this year I was evaluating how the year has gone.
There has been 2 surprises.
1) I was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus.
So far I am doing okay. The medication had to be adjusted one time so far and it seems to be okay.
2) Our youngest daughter came back home to live with us.
She was recently divorced and rent is terribly high in the city.
At first we were a little concerned things would not go well. She has a great education and a good job but it was too expensive to live in the city alone.
Frankly I was on pins and needles thinking of her in an apartment all alone.
She is very mature and after talking about things we came to understand what each expected from the other.
She will eventually find a better solution for herself as she does not feel independent while living at home with her parents.
I have enjoyed having her here so very much.
She and her dad have had lots of good laughs remembering things they did together when she was a little girl.
But again communication is the key.

Well we will see what surprises the next 6 months bring.
Hey I just realized I am nearly to 100 followers.
When I reach 100 followers I will have a big giveaway.
I am art overflowing in my studio and somethings you might like.
This is a fairly new blog since I had to redo mine because of security reasons.
It has taken a while to recover my followers.
Some items for giveaway.
And many other things.

Isn't that funny? I'm glad that by naming the year, you weren't really too surpised when you were surprised. It's late, I may not be making sense. What good parents you are to have your daughter come home until she is ready (and the economy is better) to move on. It's a familiar story.
Glad you are coping well with your diagnosis. All the adjustments you have to make with that - and you did! Blessings for your and your daughter's future plans!
Wishing you continued good heath and success managing your diabetes. have a grand weekend dear friend! Cathy
What an interesting name for the year! I suppose all years are full of surprises, some nicer than others.
It sounds like you will make the kid-coming-home work, but I don't envy you.
