My VT for today, is coming back in style.
That is what I hear on TV and see on Video.

In 1954 I received this box with my birthday present in it.
It was from my paternal grandmother.
She had gotten it with stamps she had saved.
I have forgotten which ones. Top Value Stamps seems to come to my mind.
It was for my16th birthday.
I remember her letting me look at the lists of gifts one could redeem with the stamps and letting me pick out what I wanted.

Please over look the date on this photo. Something is wrong with my setting.
Have been in the Caribbean several time and brought this fabric home with me from my time in Belize.
A uke seems to go with warm balmy breezes.
I, of course, had forgotten about it until my friend sent me the music I put up on my sidebar of her son and his music made with a ukulele.
Then I found other videos of musicians who play the uke.
I was able to tune it and play one song.
"Five foot two, eyes of blue, oh what those five feet can do. Has anybody seen my gal?"
When I was in high school, myself and 3 friends had a little uke band.
We called ourselves "The Ukettes"
We played at little community get-togethers and school activities.
I even saw an old book of uke music at the antique store the other day. That was before I found my own ukulele. I am hustling up there tomorrow to see if it is still there.
My grands will have a fun time.
I had a dulcimer and took lessons for a time, but I don't know where that is now.
I am also going to to have Tea Time with some lovely folks.
I am having Lemon Honey Chamomile too.
Our daughter brought this to us from Disneyland.
It is the official unbirthday tea.
There is Mad Tea Party Blend and
Earl Grey.
Using my new cobalt blue cup I just found at my favorite thrift shop.
I collect cobalt blue but this is the first cup I have found.
I hope you will double click on the photo to see the beautiful bird.
The sun was out today in our neck of the woods and our youngest daughter is spending the night with us.
I am feeling a heart full of gratitude.
I love to visit and talk about our children.

Peggy,you are full of surprises.
I feel like I am living in Siberia.
There is no place to move the snow.
It is to the middle of my back door I can't push it open.
Have you got snow?
Cute post and the uke was a neat gift! What a great memory.
I hope you get out to find that music book, maybe we could have a performance before class. Of course the Mad Hare is a favorite of mine and it's fun to know there is a tea to celebrate that ocassion.
Hi, I'm visiting through Ruth's Tea Talk. What nice memories you've shared! I like the photo with the uke and the fabric; so pretty!
Blessings,
Christine
Enjoyed seeing and hearing about your memories and playing ability. Those are not the easiest instruments to play. You are doing just fine.

Now, now, the uke has never gone out of style, some people just haven't been hip to it until lately! Here's me doing ukulele in a cabaret about ten years (and 40 pounds) ago:

Thanks for sharing your beautiful vintage ukulele and story---hope you pick it up and start playing again!
Those are interesting photos you shared here, Peggy. Thanks! I haven't seen a cobalt blue mug before. Interesting color.
Thanks for sharing the quote. It is one of the principles I hold in parenting and I've seen it worked.
Blessings!
Oh my, lemon honey chamomile sounds just wonderful right now! Wishing you a grand day! Cathy
We've gotten wonderful teas at Disneyworld...the "England" part of Epcot's World Showcase sells lots of them, flavors I haven't seen in even our huge supermarkets here in Chicagoland. Beautiful mug!
Blessings,
Lori
