Listen for His Purpose

"Who is the man who reverently fears and worships
the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that he should
choose. He himself shall dwell at ease...
The secret of the Lord have they who fear Him."

Psalm 25:12-14

When I was a young girl I was always confused by the word 'fear' in the scriptures.
I thought that meant I was to be afraid of God.
Of course as I grew and had more in depth education into the scriptures, I came to understand the word fear to mean awe.

My awe of God eventually came to manifest itself in my appreciation of all things around me.
First nature and humanity.
Especially the gift of His Son Jesus.
As I grew older and had opportunities to study music, art. medicine and literature my awe of God extended into every aspect of my life.
Gratitude became the major virtue of my understanding of the
Awesomeness of God.
Every choice in my life has been based on what I feel is my purpose in life.

Yesterday was our youngest daughter's 34th birthday.

We had our "girl's" celebration of her birthday last night and all day long I felt the presence of all my children and grandchildren and the miracle of their existence.
My purpose in life is to know, love and to serve God in every aspect of my life.

The guest of honor.
She loves a birthday party.

Next to Beth is gd Jill, gs Trenton, drs, Julia, Jennifer,
gd Cindy and daughter Rachel.

A girls only celebration is held for each member of our family according to their likes and availability to get together.

I is so lovely to have a girls' evening out. My family is scattered and we seldom had a chance.

Once during my dad's 80th, we had a chance, but we didn't think of it. We did have a photo of 4 sisters together.

It is rough when families are scattered. This post may look as if we don't celebrate the male birthdays, but you know girls, we just take a chance to have a girl's night out. We will have a family get together on Sunday. Except for one son in Texas all live within 60-65 mile radius.
