Some neat Christmas gifts.

We received some neat gifts for Christmas and I want to share a few with you.

Our son has been into computers all of his adult life and many years ago he started to collect old toys.
He has sent some great mementos of their childhood days over the years, such as dolls and toy soldiers, etc.
This year he send the Ridley's Classic Games collection.
The grands hit up the Yoyo, played cards, grandson taught me to play Dominos and I love Jacks.
This is brand new but looks old. He just knows where to find them.

Two large boxes of Omaha Steaks items from our daughter and family.

Steaks
Chicken fillets
Tenderloin
Franks
Twice baked potatoes
Apple tarts

HH is in heaven.
He does all the shopping and all the cooking.
For awhile he can shop from our freezer.
Everything is delicious.

 Panettone

An Italian Christmas Bread and some Fleur-de-lis items which I love anything to do with lilies and of course it is the logo of the City of Louisville.

New CD's of Josh Groban, Jackie Evancho, Susan Boyle.

On another subject.
I was at the library and espied a beautiful book in the new books section.

Of course I know who Gloria Vanderbilt is.
We had visited one of her homes in New York and in New Port, Rhode Island, but I did not know her story.

Every night at 10:00 PM I watch Anderson Cooper 360.
He is one of my favorite reporters.
When I found out he was Gloria Vanderbilt's son I was totally surprised.

He has talked about his mother a lot.
He said that he had lost a wonderful father at an early age and that his brother had committed suicide.

I hurriedly paged through the book and found
this picture.
He has also written the foreward for this book, so I checked it out.

I did not know Gloria's story and it is amazing.
There are some of the most amazing photos in this coffee table book.
I loved it and would recommend it.
It is evident that Anderson Cooper is very proud of his mom.

She is indeed an amazing woman, in many ways and in many areas.

You got some great gifts. I did know who Anderson's parents were, but I think I'd still like to look at that book. That's a beautiful picture of them.

What a great Christmas!! And that book - intrigues me, but not available in our local library system - I'll have to watch out for it in the stores (maybe in Hawaii).
