This is an old, old post card I found of downtown, my town.
This is the main historic block of our town.
It does not look much different, that is the tops of the buildings, now than then.
I think about 1909.
This shot is looking north from the courthouse.
The business on the left was a drugstore then and is still a pharmacy.
The building on the right has had the front redesigned.
The pointed roof is still there.

Interesting post, glad to read it!
The store on the left reminded me of some pictures from the 1930s recently reprinted in our local paper. These were accompanied by the history of the building and its use.
Unfortunately today the ground floor is a McDonalds!
Such old postcards are so interesting and yours made me scuttle off to Google Earth to see if I could find the same view now. And a bonus of a Christmas meme as well.
This is one meme that will actually do.
I'm glad the pointed roof is still there.
I think our family probably drove through Bardstown when I was a child but I don't remember it. It looks like a wonderful city. I love the old buidings.
I did not get to post this week but am enjoying all these; take a photo of how it looks today and put it alongside this one for the rest of us to see?? It looks like so many places inthe Midwest!

The postcard is extremely well focused and so clear. I think it is so fun to see these old shots of buildings that still are standing.
Neat pic! I love comparing old town photos to new- it is so interesting to see what has changed.
