Mosaic Monday Christmas decorations

Mosaic Monday

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go.
At brother and sister-in-law's home last weekend and after fooling around with Picnik.Com
Sister in law and her three sisters are all very talented women.
They had open house with all the items they had made on display for sale.
It was marvelous.
Christmas decorations, crocheted items, jewelry,
purses and they invited me to be part of it next year.
Hey something great for me to work on and plan for the entire year.

I bought several pair of fingerless gloves for the texters among the grands.

Will be making those soon myself.
Sister and I swapped patterns.
I got pattern for gloves.
She got patterns for these
ponchos and hats I made for two of our grands.
This poncho can be worn several ways.

Bought a cream colored soft turtle neck to go with this one.
Blue soft turtle neck to go with this one.

The buttons say "Girl Power."

These are for 11 and 15 year old grands.
Do you think they will wear them?
Maybe since QMM made them.

How fun to join your SIL's for a crafty good time. The fingerless gloves are very quick to knit or crochet, and I bet your Grands will love the Ponchos. I sure would wear them...in fact I do wear them and shawls, too. Everyone I've made them for are always ready for another one in a year or two. I think I have another year before I start over on my list. Got a few WIP's too. Great post for MM!

Who knows what the grandchildren will wear at that age? We have twin granddaughters that are 14 and I'm not even sure what styles they like.
I love the idea of fingerless gloves for them texting - thanks for sharing this idea!

Yes, I think they will wear them. They are beautiful. I've seen lots of poncho fashions about, but never a pattern that nice. How fun that you have a year-long project! Great mosaic...so bright and cheerful!

I almost missed your comment this morning on my PhotoBlog, but went to check on the Bagman and his Humerous BrokenArm. About your question on the Fingerless Gloves...I've made several pair...knitted, but haven't made any to sale. However, lots of people do, and here's a link to some really great ones on ETSY

I don't know if the comment box will auto link for you, but I hope you find some gloves....they really are great to wear...I have a pair on needles to finish for my sister for Christmas....better get with it, huh?

ADORABLE! I have a 7& a 13 year old who would just have a fit over both of them. You are talented QMM

Well honey I THINK they will wear them but don't go by what I think because I've just about stopped giving grandkids anything I've labored with love on because it seems that anything that is nostalgic or meaningful to me is anything but that to them. So to keep my feelings from being hurt I just revert to the "gift card" thing which they LOVE so much more. It's all together different than it used to be for sure! I however love the little poncho sets. Hugs, Mollye

Oh Peggy I meant to tell you regarding the fingerless gloves. You can also take an old sweater (one where the sleeves are rather tight) and cut the sleeves off and on the cuff end, stitch little short lines which are the "fingers" and there you have a set of fingerless gloves which can then be worn slouchy or you can embelish them with buttons, flowers etc.
