I stumped my toe as I walked along
Tears so intense, no wonder I fell
Was looking for my lost raven haired daughter
She died away in another land
Why did she go so far away
Did she not love me any more
I raised my head and wiped the tears and blood from
My face and saw why I had fallen
I found my Julia when I stumped my toe
She got my attention with a cracked stone
Oh why did I not fall on my face and open my eyes
When she was young

Very powerful message... time really is so fleeting. We really are little different from the day lily...
Many blessings for much joy and wonderful time spent with your daughters!

What an original interpretation of the prompt! I hope you don't mind me pointing out that you have a typo in the last-but-one line. "Oven" where I think you surely intended "open"
Ooh - real food for thought. I haven't been writing for weeks now, time just seems to fly by and I don't get to it. Keep up the good work!
A beautifully written, tragic piece.
Thanks Doc I indeed meant open instead of oven.

Strong message in this piece. Nice Mag. Love and Light, Sender
Very meaningful. So many times we wish we would have opened our eyes sooner, so we could have seen things clearer, before the missed opportunity.
Smthing 2 think about. Our lives r so busy as we try 2 multitask & get everything we think important done. But many times, things get away from us & then it's 2 late.
I liked the message in this one, too.
oh, Peggy, how very sad. I hope that is as from real as it is possible to be.
I added myself to follow your blog. You are more than welcome to visit mine and become a follower if you want to.
God Bless You :-)

There is nothing true about this, except the coincidence I have a daughter named Julia. I was just inspired by so many sad stories out there with families all separated.

why did i not do it earlier...a question i hope i never have to ask myself...very nice magpie
So heartfelt.
so sad. we can never get that time back, either.
I don't believe in coincidence. Nice piece, QMM.
yep- live each day to it;s fullest- dont sweat the small stuff- pay atention to our loved ones- that's the most important thing we can do for each other.
That and VOTE!
You can't turn back the clock. Well expressed.
wow... powerfully written with intensity. Great! :) The Bach
Regret and guilt I find them to be a huge waste of time. Rather to remember what was done right,we are after all human.
Nicely captured thought - time is fleeting, to be sure!
The reality of humanity and regret... but yet to forgive oneself will set one free. And allow one to see what they have done right. Nice write.
Beautifully written ... and a reminder for all!
