Eureka- what I've been looking for

Now that I believe summer is here, of course I had to change my header.
My namesake is blooming up a storm and will be all summer long.
Of course that means all the dead heading everyday will soon start.
I take my little bag outside each morning and collect the lilies that were so beautiful yesterday and now bow their heads down and their job is done.

The cycle of life.

Finally found what I was looking for.

I just love this plant.

I put it in the shade at the junction of our garage and the front of the house, about 4 years ago.

It struggled for about 2 years. Last year it was fairly full of blooms but this year it has overwhelmed me with how pretty it is.
I did not know what it was.

Had looked it up numerous times to no avail.

Today I made a little bouquet and brought it in to examine the leaves better and to look once more to see if I could identify it.

I was finally able to identify it by describing the leaves.

It is a Geranium Sangieneum

Geranium sanguineum, commonly called Bloody Cranesbill, is a herbaceous plant species in the Geraniaceae family.[1] It is native from Europe and temperate Asia, and is cultivated as a garden subject, and a number of different cultivars exist. The flowers are purple[2]—the name refers to the red color of the leaves in autumn. It is also the county flower of Northumberland and equally the county's affiliated ship, HMS Northumberland.

Oh, oh, When I found this little item I remember I did find this flower before.
I remember the common name 'Bloody Cranebill.'

Well, I guess we all need reminding every so often.

It is a shade loving plant and that was the reason I bought it to plant there.

I found it on line and the picture of it had been taken in Belgium by man who decided to research it but there was not much there about it.
Anyway
Now I know
That is what I call a good day's work.
