Even the birdies got a Christmas pressie

All kinds of gifts for Christmas around here.
Kentucky blue and white everywhere.

Brother Joe never missed a football game.
Now his ears will be warm.

SIL Linda will have warm hands and can shake her pom poms without even taking her gloves off.

There is no bird feed in this feeder because even the birds got a gift.

The old feeder had sunflower seeds.
HH ran out of those.
The new feeder has regular bird seed and none of the birds have visited.
He decided to leave the sunflower seed feeder empty and maybe they would have to rely on the new feeder.
Not yet.

Share the Joy Thursday with Meri

The joy of being with family and friends, praying together, playing together and  sharing is at the top of my list this Christmas week.

The joy that HH and I get from watching the birds each morning is so calming and readies us for the coming day.

Celebrating Friendship with Ruth is another way to share that joy all around our cyber world.

Having........hot coffee in my regular coffee cup

Thinking.........about all the loved ones we have been blessed with and offering prayers for those suffering around the world.

Feeling........so blessed and resolving to do more this year to ease someone's pain, even in my small way.
(Oops that sounds like a New Year's resolution)

Today's Word

"Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But
one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I
press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward
in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13 NIV)

Looking forward with Joy to all the great blogging experiences to come to share with you.

Jesus Heals the Blind Man-Then and Now

The 4th Sunday of Lent.

God doesn't give up but comes to meet everyone of us in the two fold way described in today's Gospel.  Firstly, 'he spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva, and smeared the clay on his eyes'  (Jn 9:6).  God made man, who is a creature.  He united Himself to 'our earth' so that man would never need to flee Him, but could come to recognise Him through a meeting with His Holy Humanity.  St John wrote in the Prologue to his Gospel, 'The Word became flesh, he lived among us' (Jn 1:14).

Dear God give me the grace to accept the marvelous gifts that have come to us through Your Son Jesus.
Amen.
