....carpe diem. The Daylily. "Be like the flower, turn your face to the sun." Khalil Gibran. She gives her all for just one day then bows her head to God and fades away to nourish the next generation. God I pray I may give my all each day to honor you and bow my head at the end to nourish the next generation. Peggy Jones. NOTE............ Personal Photo Challeng-Light

Our assignment:   "In this exercise, light takes center stage and commands your attention. It can be dramatic or softly caressing. It can be natural light or it can be man-made: backlight, sidelight, spotlight, candlelight, light beams streaming from clouds, twinkling lights, lamp light, street light, reflected light. There are so many possibilities, and you have the freedom to decide. But light should play a key role to support your subject or actually be your subject."

All of these were taken without the flash with my Olympus
Super wide lens.

Found this in my archives. Mixing the  condensed milk and cool whip for a Surprise Pie.
Notice the color of the vanilla on the fluffy mixture and on the beater.
The light was coming from the light over the counter.
The vanilla partly mixed gives it the look of silver and gold.

Out at Nazareth campus today I looked up at the sun shining through this pine tree got a shot.
When  looking at it at home I noticed the purple look of the pine cones from the sun.
Could not have planned that if I tried.

While guiding a couple on a tour through the building I noticed the colored rays of the sun coming in from the stain glassed window over the doorway.
After the tour was finished I went back to the parlor and got this shot.
No flash was used.

A vase of flowers sitting on my desk with drapery tiebacks hanging on one of the flowers.

I tilted my lamp straight on these and shot it without the flash.
Love the shadows and texture of the ties.

Go here for more light shots.
