In Tuesday's post Backroads Travellers
I showed an old historic part of our community.
Chapeze Distillery.
These houses were all in disrepair and falling down when we moved here 40 years ago along with the old distillery.
When we moved here an old bachelor with lots of money lived here and he was just as apt to shoot a visitor as not.
After he died the family renovated the beautiful home and subdivided all the acres, and there were a lot of them. With all the new homes and nice manicured lawns, the community demanded the old distillery be cleaned up too.
This old home was renovated and is now a B&B.
It is located directly across from the following photos which is now part of the Bourbon Trail Tours through our area.
This building used in making of the movie
"Stripes" due to looking like
Czechoslavakia.
I took this photo from the website of the Old
Chapeze Distillery.
New photos of the area on both sides of the road now.
Because of the Historic value of this property nothing could be removed but fences and roads were updated to fit in with the new direction of the community.

The community is fortunate to have such a number of historic buildings. It's so good that they have been preserved!
enjoyed this look-around! beautiful homes and gates and really neat old buildings.
Hello, the first house with the porch is lovely. The distillery looks nice since it was renovated. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day and weekend ahead!
So happy to see these historic places restored to their former beauty. Your photos are wonderful. Have a lovely day.
Some lovely new and old buildings. Great fences.
Lovely home in the first shot with a very pretty fence. It is wonderful that this area was cleaned up and preserved. I liked seeing the old caboose at the end too.
Lovely tour- thanks for sharing!
