Grand Social. From one day to the next.

Having a hard time with the idea of our beloved grandson, Dylan, lying in a hospital so many miles away and not being able to go to him.

We are both elderly and it is a long trip from Ky. to Austin Tx.

He is a professional skate boarder.
Has his own business, selling and teaching skate boarding.

Our son was quick to let us know this accident was not due to skate boarding.

He was cleaning up after a day of work at the skate park and while sitting on the back of the truck for the ride to the trash dumpster, the driver, unable to see out of his rear view window, backed into a light pole and crushed his right calf.

This happened on Dec. 30th and he is still in the hospital.
Had four surgeries and to undergo a skin craft today
1/11/16.
A bad injury.

Below is the latest report from our son.

"Dylan update: Just got back from the hospital, he's in good spirits. He asked me to bring him a cappuccino smoothy. His new nurse, who is a skater, brought him some cool Thrasher skate books that he is really enjoying. We will find out on Monday when the skin graft surgery will take place, hopefully sooner than later. Thank you everyone for your prayers, well wishes and donations to the gofundme. He's resting comfortable not worrying about how much this is going to cost. He certainly has learned a valuable lesson about the importance of having health care coverage."

Asking for your prayers for our grandson.
He is 25 and I am glad he is not married yet or has any children.
I expect it will be a year before he can skate like the above again.
But he is in good spirits and gratefully his knee and muscle were not damaged.

I am so sorry to hear this. Sounds like he is being well cared for but I understand how much you would want to visit him at this time. It's hard not being able to be right there to help. Praying he makes a speedy recovery.

Peggy, I am so sorry about your grandson's accident. He still looks so full of life, facing everything with bravery. I will join you in praying for a complete recovery. God bless him!
