Good Fences-Old stories.

Sad to say the original fence on this farm was built by slaves. They had come with my early ancestors from
Maryland.
Over the years the slaves were freed but many of them continued to live and work on this farm.

This property had been continuously in my family until it was sold several years ago.
My grandfather and father were born on this farm.
This is not the original house but I remember the
original one.
Our family owned it 150 years.
The wood piled up in the back are what remained of the slave quarters and kitchens.

There is a lot of "history" in that photo and home. The stone wall is fabulous.

That's amazing - to know a place where your great grandparents lived!
