Rainy, cloudy days call for soup and just cooking.

If I can get this giant turnip peeled this will go into the oven and be baked for my lunch.
I love to cut up different vegetables and bake them since I must stay away from fried foods.
Today it will be fresh turnips and cabbage, onions and peppers.
Today is a chilly, rainy day in November. A good day to just cook.
Since our daughters have taken on the task of cooking for family holidays I do not have much to do in getting ready for things.
Of course, we have to take Papaw's Green Beans. They never seem to get tired of them.

I will also be taking English cucumbers and  sweet onions marinated in vinegar, water and just a touch of sweetener.

Today I am cooking a roast for vegetable soup.

It is strange to not be cooking. I am going to my sisters and only bringing cornbread casserole. Just have to enjoy this season in life and appreciate that others are doing the bulk of the work. Enjoy your family.

All those vegetables make me hungry - maybe I'll have leftover vegetables from thanksgiving for breakfast.
