Another chilly, cloudy day.
Although we have had some chilly but sunny days the cold day wnter days are coming our way.
They bother me more so than ever before.
I have to try very hard now to be grateful and to rejoice in my many hobbies and projects I have going on.
I must admit they do not measure up to the week-ends of visitors and activities I used to do with my children and grandchildren just a few years ago.
I can remember when I would envision days of complete silence and nothing to do except what I wanted to do.
Those days are here now and as human nature would have it, I miss the days of picking up kiddos from school, helping to get one of them ready for a big occasion at school, etc.
No going back.
I appreciate my computer more each day and can depend on my sweet grands to keep me up to date on
all their school and social activities.
And special dress up occasions.

The computer and Internet are great. And the kids carry their smart phones around to keep in touch.
I am still like you were. I am alone and enjoy the peace and quiet. I have lots of friends and we get out and about at times. Enjoyed your post very much. I too find pleasure in my computer even if I do not know much about it.
OOO, I am about to turn 78 and that is knocking, HARD, on 80's door.
All our grands are about grown...three will graduate from high school this year...and the youngest, Deeds, will start high school next term.
Little GREAT-grands are even growing faster than I like...one is 6, one is almost 2 and the other will be a yr old in Dec.
I LOVE my computer...love blogging...love texting with grands...
it is a good time in my life. Mr. Sweet and I are both in fair health for two old codgers. :)
I agree that our empty nest is peaceful but lacking. I am still working and considering retiring next summer but I would miss my middle school students. Glad I have a few months to choose. So glad we live in a day of FaceTime and Skype. Glad your family is in touch. Thanks for the thoughts.
What a beautiful, beautiful young lady that #13 is! Lucky grandma!
I smiled at your comment about how "heaven on earth" would be days of nothing to do except what I wanted. I do have those now, but like you, they don't make me as happy as I thought they would. I spend the time fixing food to deliver to the kids or offering to stop by and babysit so mommy can have some time off.
All seasons of life have their joys, Peggy. I'm a grandmother to young ones and I'm trying to enjoy it all as much as I can as I already see how fast they are growing!
You do so many great things on the computer and with your blog, you're in touch with the world as well as your kids and grands!
