FSO-theme-Early Summer colors

This week our theme is
Early Summer Colors.
It is the beginning of June and Summer is slowly approaching us. This Friday, share with us the colors the early summer season, in your part of the world.
In our neck of the woods, which is Central Kentucky, USA
One of the very first spring colors to brighten our landscape and lift our spirits is the
Forsythia

This photo was taken at our previous home in about 1997.

When we moved to our new home I tried several times to start a forsythia but someone kept mowing
them down.
They are very easy to start.
Just pull off a spring and stick it in the ground, and if someone does not mow it down, it will thrive.

Another early bloomer is the
Rhododendron.

Mine faces the east, gets the morning sun and is in shade the rest of the day.
Just what it likes.

Love me some petunias.

Periwinkle is a ground cover and blooms early.
Will stop blooming as it gets hotter.

All the stores have their colorful displays outside.

Ever faithful
Daylily
Blooms all summer long.

 Crocus comes very early.

 Tulips always bloom before Easter.

Looking forward to Knock Out Roses, hydrangea,
Coreopsis and crepe myrtle as it gets warmer.

Hi Peggy,

Lovely to hear from you.

As you know I love my garden and its flowers. Right about this time everything is bursting out all over. You have shown some beauties, hope you can continue to enjoy the colours of life.

Beautiful. Most of what I have is just trying to survive at this point. The sun has set and it's still 113 degrees. Have a great day. Tammy
