Personal Photo Challenge -Colorful

This is one of my favorite memes.
It has a theme not not too limited.
Sometimes limited themes make it hard for me since I don't go out a lot these days.

Shot with my Olimpus
set on auto and flash to come on based on amount of light needed.
Love that aspect.

Umbrella color enhanced with Pic Monkey saturation

This photo was taken in Kingston Jamaica.
Most of the houses are colorful but this impressed me because since Marijuana is legal there, it is grown right out where the flowers are.
We were in a jeep safari but the guide would slow down for any photo requests. LOL

He was not using due to his job requirements but many of the folks along the road were stoned out of their mind. I know it is not funny but I can't forget how funny it all seemed to us.

Although the touches of color were red I enhanced them with Pic Monkey.
I think I would have liked this better if I had cropped down to the porch.
Gonna try that.

This house was right across from Bob Marley's house.

I am pleased that I have gotten the hang of macro and bokeh now,  but darkened the leaf and the deck railing to bring out the color of the geranium and define the stems of the blooms.

I know I went over the limit but tried this shot more than once.

By lowering my camera just a bit and barely aiming up, I was able to get the translucent aspect of the shell.
It is pure white in color.
When shooting with my camera higher and turned down the inside shows the white.
A little tidbit of learning for me.

Wonderful color shots Peggy!
It's great how we learn from each other!

Love your shell photo.
The red berries make such a POP of color and I agree the translucency of the shell brings something special to the shot.

I'm now following you again Peggy, when I changed my blog look a while ago for some reason I lost some of the blogs I followed - it's beyond me how these things happen!?!?!

Hello Peggy, I hope you have been well. All this learning with our cameras keeps us young at heart! Too funny about stoned people in Jamaica, the time we were there, a guy was trying to sell to us right off the plane.
The photo with the shell is very good, I like how you were able to capture the translucence of it.

Lovely colourful photos. I think my favourite is the speckled geranium.

Lovely color in your photos. The light shining through the shell is gorgeous - how clever of you to keep changing the angle until you found what you wanted. Love the geranium, too, such delicate lines.

Love the geranium and the shell. You've done a nice job capturing their beautiful colors. The shell is especially nice since it's white. There are so many different shades of white, and this shot shows that nicely. Well done!

These are all lovely with nice pops of color. Reds and pinks always brighten up a photo, it seems! I'm happy to hear that you experimented with the last one to get the right position. Our digital cameras are amazing devices, but they can have a really rough time of figuring out good automatic exposures with strong backlighting. By positioning the camera just right, you assisted the built-in light meter to give you the exposure that you were seeking. That's how to wrestle with these challenges and be successful! I love the last photo the best. Beautiful lighting and nice color contrast.
