FSO-theme-oldest building in my town.

Bardstown, Ky. became our home town in 1977 when we moved here from neighboring Springfield, Ky. to be nearer to my husband's job at General Electric in Louisville, Ky.

Bardstown was founded in 1780 and The Old Tablott Tavern was build in 1779 and is the oldest stagecoach site in the state still in operation.
The town was build up around this building.

Picture of the inside of this historic building can be seen herehttps://www.google.com/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1024&bih=566&q=the+old+talbott+tavern&oq=talbott+t&gs_l=img.1.4.0l3j0i5l4j0i24l3.1748.8144.0.12096.9.9.0.0.0.0.157.1111.1j8.9.0....0...1ac.1.38.img..0.9.1076.DsshrBqvqVg

I was not able to get photos of the inside but just click on the above code text and all of the rooms are shown.

I think you are one of the winners for the oldest building. I have some ancestors from Chester Co, PA that had old Taverns along a well known route. It makes me want to visit and see if any of those stand as well like your Tavern.

A beautiful building, Peggy, one well worth having a town built around it. Impressive inside, too!

What a wonderful building, I hope they never tear it down. I have seen so many important ones go.

everytime you post about Bardstown I am more and more sure that When Patty and I came through there last summer we should have spent several weeks instead of a few hours. we really missed 98% of what you have to offer.
