Bardstown was founded in 1780 and The Old Tablott Tavern was build in 1779 and is the oldest stagecoach site in the state still in operation.
The town was build up around this building.

I think you are one of the winners for the oldest building. I have some ancestors from Chester Co, PA that had old Taverns along a well known route. It makes me want to visit and see if any of those stand as well like your Tavern.

everytime you post about Bardstown I am more and more sure that When Patty and I came through there last summer we should have spent several weeks instead of a few hours. we really missed 98% of what you have to offer.
