Blogs full of blessings

Just don't know why

I usually follow my daily memes so I can always have some idea of what I am gonna post about.
Well today, nothing comes to mind. Don't want to do my normal meme but feel down about something.
Something I don't usually write about, feeling down that is.
I find myself always trying to be upbeat and creative but when I stop to think the main reason I have a blog is to have it printed up every 6 months and it serves as sort of a journal.
Journals are supposed to contain private thoughts and feelings of the writer.
I express my down feelings better in poetry.

Off My Path.
Why did I detour from my usual method
of communicating with my beloved daughter?
I never want to say or infer something that would ever hurt her.

They let me know long ago that I could lay a hefty  guilt trip upon their shoulders
and ever since I have tried to stay away from that loathsome bag of boulders.

I didn't do that yesterday when she called with her usual happy voice.
I always know when it is her forced or just her choice voice.

I made a comment I rued right away and never heard back from her.
I closed that door with a slam
and now must undo the words I promised never to confer.

Turns out she got busy at work and the norm with texting is you just take up or leave off whenever.
So I am feeling better that I talked to her about it.

Sometimes it's just hard not to say the wrong thing. But then sometimes the 'wrong' words lead to conversations that can be very healing. I've taken to starting some of the difficult words with 'you can tell me to butt out if you want'. It at least gives my kids the option not to answer the questions if they don't want to. But usually they just go with the flow. Good to know that all is well with you and yours!

You are very brave to share your foibles with us. It is very instructive and could prove helpful for someone. I think that when we are not feeling well things can get out of whack. The only thing I learned early on was to say, "I am wrong and you are right." Seems to work for kids, husbands, sisters, blogging buddies, and police officers. Ha!

I agree with Peg, sometime the wrong does lead to the right. But space and time are also big factors in all of this. I am of course writing this from the perspective of a son :D

And as far as blogging goes, If I don't know what to do, I just leave it be and do something else. If the brain is not thinking about the task at hand, it can actually provide some insight into accomplishing it.

And also tomorrow is Friday, and you know what to post then :) FMTSHO!
