Here is another Flickr Commons photograph from the National Library of Ireland and I know what you're all thinking ... more UNIFORMS???  Well, yes, sort of, but it's what is going on in this image that really struck me, and there are a few directions one could go with this - say, bikes? Or perhaps, guns (since there appears to be an exchange of one going on here). How about "nosy parkers" in the backgrounds of photographs? What's that term where someone or something usurps a shot? Oh yes! The PHOTOBOMB.  (Google it; you'll have a right laugh!)

Had to spend some time looking in various places to find a photo on some theme related to today's prompt photo.

Have no idea who these folks are but found it on a collection of vintage bikes on the web.
It was taken in 1940 of  a family out for the day.
The two boys are on bikes but what caught  my eye was the girl in the jeans.
That is exactly how we wore our jeans in the 40's and 50's.
I guess that is how Capri's or pedal pushers came into being.

This photo could have been taken right around my own neck of the woods.

Go here for more SS fun.

I remember my mother wearing jeans in this fashion! I thought she looked so pretty and in a fun way, a way that meant we were going to be outside going on a picnic or even...for a bike ride together!
Thanks for this!

I thought they turned the jeans up because they were too long. But then, what would I know?

The boy on the far left is wearing clothes and striking a pose that is very reminiscent of my father. Amazing, fat tire bikes are now back in vogue!

Sometimes those photos we have no idea about who or what, can be the most fun. I too love that new word to me, not that I haven't had a lot of photobombs I have! and will, but now they take a whole new meaning of the word for me! We can thank Kat for that!

I just thought of another cool photo word, probably not in the books yet, but photobloom! The other side of photobomb!

Mom does NOT look too happy in this photo.

The turned up jeans must have been a world wide fashion. In those days it was the same here.
Could the woman in the middle be the mother of the four? Or is she just a little bit too young?
In any case it is a nice picture taken at a nice angle.

This family loves biking except me...I have a poor center of gravity so bicycling for me is hazardous to my health! Take care! Cathy

I had pedal pushers when I was young and ended up hating them. I resisted crop pants for a long time because of that.

I think that is right about pedal pushers, I read somewhere once that it created the need to shorten pants to prevent being caught in bicycle chains. Hmm I wonder why men did not have the same problem? I have been away from Sepia for some time but will return soon. Enjoyed the photo.

That's an interesting group photo Peggy, though it looks as though the photographer was leaning at an angle! Cropped pants are back in fashion again, though I remember them being called pedal-pushers, capri pants and even matador trousers!

The girl in pedal-pushers reminds me of a photo I have of my mom in similar pedal pushers and plaid shirt.

I've never photobombed anyone [yet] but some friends have tried in the past to make me do it, just like I've tried coaxing them into it as well. Never worked out and we'd chicken put at the last minute...

Cool pic, and SO reminiscent of a time now past, a splendid summer that we've just had...

I still do that with pants that are too short. I just roll them up at the bottom and nobody has to know! Ha ha.

I thought the lady in the middle was a big sister.
