The Jim Beam family home in 1812

The same home today

Alan's prompt photo gives many options for a theme.
A group of three on the left, for instance.
My theme, however, this week is

Bourbon history, much like the Beam family bourbon dynasty, mirrors U.S. history. Rebellion. Progress. Heroes. Facts. Legends. It's why bourbon is, and will always be, America's Native Spirit—a spirit the Beam family has had a tremendous hand in helping to create, foster and grow, both in the U.S. and abroad, as key players in a great American story.

This complete week,in my town, is
Kentucky Bourbon Festival,
selected as one of the best festivals in the state of
Kentucky.

Every possible room in this town is booked.
And surrounding towns are booked with
shuttle buses running from those towns.
We have visitors from all over the world.
Jim Beam family and home in particular
is pictured above.
This beautiful home today is still occupied by the
descendents of the Jim Beam family.

Every nook and cranny of our town has activities scheduled for the week.
I did a post recently about our town and bourbon so I will not delve any further into this history.

Come on down to Bardstown and have a good time.

Amazing that this house is still there! And in such good shape. Also it is practically unchanged possibly with exception of an added chimney. Hope you enjoy the Festival.

Ever since my nephew went on a bourbon tour in Kentucky, my husband and I have wanted to do that. A bourbon festival sounds wonderful. (And Jim Beam is my hero, I must confess.)

They have preserve the place so authentically -- on the outside at least. Remarkable.

What a beautiful house, and huge! If I wasn't so far away, I would love to come and visit. It sounds like a great time.

Wow, a borbon festival. That's fascinating. I'm guessing that, like the Gilroy garlic festival, bourbon is added to just about everything, including ice cream.

The house of Bourbon could also be a place for the French royal family. They appreciated good spirits too!

Even I recognised Jim Beam's name immediately. Fine house - good to see a then and now shot before the thought of a shot of bourbon came into view.
