Holy Thursday, Share the Joy and Tea Talk with Ruth

Holy Thursday

After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had returned to the table, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am. So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them."
John 13:12-16

All my life Holy Week, leading up to Easter, has been a busy time with almost daily activities at church either when my children were in school and later as a religious educator for my parish.

I do not attend all of those activities and take part in the planning and execution of the ceremonies anymore, but I am in the state of observing Holy Thursday in my own way.

Reading of the Scripture brings me much JOY and peace as I am wholly in this holy season.
Listening to music associated with each day brings much joy.
May I share this JOY with you.

Tea Talk with Ruth

Having .............my second cup of coffee in my regular coffee mug.
Feeling........the peace of my faith and and understanding of this holy time.

Thinking............the joy of the Risen Jesus is always in my heart and in my life decisions.

We are each so blessed,
especially as we remember Jesus at this time.

Ah yes -- celebration of the Last Supper and the right of purification by foot washing. A holy tradition worth some thought and acknowledgment.

Happy Easter, Peggy. Thanks for sharing your tea Time at Tea Talk. There's no sign of Holy Week in my host country. People here are celebrating a Buddhist holiday. I'm actually at our community center right now, having a short break from class. It's soothing to the soul reading your post. And I do enjoyed the photo collection of niches you shared in your other post. I love your private niche!

Blessings!
