The 14 Stations of the Cross

On Tuesday my monthly faith group met and the subject of our discussion were the 14 Stations of the Cross.

These are pictures, sculptures or plaques that depict the journey of Jesus from the moment he is sentenced to death to His death on the cross.
They are in the same place in every Catholic
 Church in the world.

They start at the front on the left side of the church and go from #1 to #7 then you walk across the back of the church to #8 and proceed down the right wall to #14.
When you stop in front of each plaque you genuflect and remain in front of the plaque, say the prayers prepared and stay as long as you feel inclined.
You literally walk the Way of the Cross with Jesus.

 Only 3 minutes long.

The joys of the Lenten season are not always seen as joy but the joy of meditation is one that is very important to me leading to the Glorious celebration of Easter.

The joys of meditation and reflection are not the property of any one faith or philosophy.
It is universal.

It gives me much Joy to live in a country where one may meet and pray and meditate without fear of harm.

Having........Passion by TAZO filled with flowers, Orange peel, Orice root, Rose hips, Lemon grass and Red poppy.
In.......my pretty pink china tea cup.

Feeling............blessed by yesterday's faith group meeting experience.

Thinking........meditation is such a gift that we do not always appreciate. It seems hard at first and many of us are hesitant to delve into the habit of it but folks who do will attest to the benefits and peace it can bring.

"Plant the seed of meditation and reap the fruit of peace of mind."

Remez Sasson .

Glad to hear you are okay after all the storms. We walked the Via Dolorosa in old Jerusalem when we were there 7 years ago. That was a most magnificent trip since we also were able to visit my husband's family who still live in an courtyard home in the old city. We thought about going again this year during our Spring Break but with it being the week before Easter, not sure we can book a hotel room. Hope you are having a great week. Tammy

Loved the quote! I'm sure I need some time away to meditate. I have been too busy lately. Thank you, Peggy. This post is the Lord's invitation for me to come away with Him and embrace silence to hear His voice.

Beautiful tea cup! Tazo Passion is my husband's favorite. Oh, to sit and *think* and *muse* on the Scriptures. Precious time!

I love your teacup!

Meditation is something so hard to do - for it requires silence and being still - two very hard things for me to do. But it is so worthwhile!
