What a treat
Not a rabbit
Unable to find a rabbit in my archives but did find this photo of my brother Joe in 1952 with a puppy.
He was 6 years old.
I was 14 and had just gotten my first Brownie camera.
This shot was taken just outside our grandfather's little barn where he milked his cow.
The cow grazed beyond the fence behind my brother and all that once open land is now filled with homes.
60 years have passed.
Believe it or not,
I think this puppy was named Brownie.
Go here for more great photos and stories.
We have a Polly or a Peter Rabbit in our yard.
BTW I am so enjoying my new Kindle Fire.
Just watched "Larry Crowne" with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. I recommend highly. Tom Hanks is right up to date on subjects he takes on. He wrote, produced, directed and acted in this story of a middle aged man who loses his job and with no college has to go to college.
If all could do such, what a different way things might be.

But did Brownie grow up to catch a rabbit. I'll bet the rabbit in your yard wasn't shot with a Brownie.
No the rabbit in my yard was shot with a digital for sure. I cannot remember what happened to Brownie the dog. I feel sure he got run over by a car.
QMM
Too bad about brownie the dog. we used to live across from a cow pasture which is now all houses. Less then 40 years ago.
Shooting rabbits with a digital is the way to go :-) better than an air rifle as far as the rabbit is concerned. Happy New Year, QMM :-)
I'm lovin' my kindle fire too!!! Happy day to you!!! Cathy!
wonderful photos such memories, my daughter loves het kindle fire as well, I think I need one!
yes how does one know the difference between Polly and Peter...but then who cares right...they are all furry darlings! great photo too!
That’s a great shot for a six year old. Children seem to take the most candid pictures; none of this messing around posing!
Brownie is a cutie! My son loves his fire as well. My husband found a way to convert my Color Nook to an android tablet without voiding the warranty. I'm loving browsing SS in a new way!
Something wonderfully Tom Sawyer about the shot.
Aside from having a great photo of your brother, how interesting to have a glimpse of vacant land that is now all housing. I love looking at old photos of familiar places to see how they have changed.
I've got a couple of Polly/Peter rabbits hanging out in my field. They make themselves at home in my garden in the spring....grrr.
Did Brownie come in a Box? But forget the puns - that is an excellent photograph. You had a good eye for a photograph even back then.
Odd, it looks to me like a cat...
But I need to change my eyeglasses.
Don't mind me...
;)~

It's a darling photo. You must have lots of memories associated with that barn and the pasture beyond. It is sad that so much farmland disappears as cities/suburbia extend beyond their previous boundaries.
I wonder how many more photos you have taken with your Brownie. We had one and were so often disappointed when the photographs came back from the developer: blurred, out-of-focus shots of people who were too far away or too close. You got your brother perfectly!
Joe looks to be doing well holding Brownie still! The pup looks ready to bolt!
