Day 9 of Mornings with Mary and Friday Shoot Out

Mornings with Mary sponsored by the talented Rebecca has been a joyous meme for me.

I feel I am very devoted to Mary and did not know I did have so many Mary's in my life story.
This meme has not been about Mary as a religious figure only but about the very womanhood and motherhood of a very famous woman named Mary.
Probably the most painted, sculptured, portrayed and sung about of any person in history.
Statues of Earth mother go back even before the story of Mary began.

Now I have seen many candles in the shape of Mary but this one is a little different.

Several years ago while shopping one of my granddaughters helped me select this.

"Now QMM you know that candle is not for burning. How could anyone burn Mary?
Now you just put it in a candle stick and leave it alone."

Well I did and every time she comes to visit she always checks to make sure I have not lit that Mary candle.
I would say I have had it about 10 years.
My gd is 18 now and every time I look at my Mary candle I will remember the tender, loving child that helped me find her.

It will be hers when I don't need it any more.

Abby I love you so.

I used to design and make candles...and my motto was "Candles are for burning!" In this case, you've proven me wrong!
I love your story!

Long work and volunteer day so I'm late visiting VAD. I love your Mary candle and how wonderful your now-18-year-old granddaughter selected her for you. Also love your wheels of color.

Amazing you can keep a candle 10 years...you must be a very good house-keeper...mine would be sticky with dust :)

your wheel of color, did you ever made a disc, running stitch all round, pull the stitch and you get a round "wheel" my sis learnt it as a child, and made a clown, so I learn from her, when I had my oldest girl, I made a clown too.

Yesterday, my colleague wore a beautiful top with a "collar" with different sizes. She didn't know we could make it.

I enjoyed your story of how your granddaughter helped pick out the Mary candle. As for the wheels, I like your perspective. Very colorful and different. My favorite is the vintage wheels and the sewing machine.

Your Mary candle is just lovely, it would be crime to burn her. I really like your vintage wheels. And good thinking with the sewing machine, I would never have thought of that!

What a tender and heartwarming story. You and Abby are so luck to have each other.

And your wheels are so diverse. How easy it is to overlook something that is everywhere.

I love your granddaughter story -- it's so sweet. And you've got my wheels spinning!

You sure have the most variety of wheels. That's thinking outside of the box.

Wonderful selection of wheels. I haven't seen that quilt pattern in years. My great-grandmother made many quilts of hexagons.

The wheels on the bus go round and round - and right now they are probably full of slush, lol! Your many wheels are much more beautiful and interesting!
