Morning prayers and that first cup of coffee

Upon arising this morning the house was very quiet.
Well not completely quiet. The AC was going full force.
We had one day of relief from the high humidity and the high dew factor they call it.
HH was still sleeping.
He used to get up so early that I guess he just enjoys relaxing and rising whenever he wants.
I am glad for him, he deserves that.

Dear daughter is  working the second sift at the VOA family shelter where she is a case manager and does not have to be there until 12 noon.

As I sat on my deck and admire my flowers, since I had finished my usual morning prayers, my mind turned to the horror and misery that the dear folks in Norway are going through.
Last night I heard a discussion on a headline in one of the New York newspapers.
Fox News was talking about the fact that the newspapers had called the man who did the attack in Norway as a dangerous Christian fanatic terrorist.
An oxymoron, according to the reporter.
This man cannot be Christian and do what he did.
Sound familiar?
He said his goal was to keep Norway from filling up with Muslims.
It reminded me how we just label folks and the newspapers are the most guilty right now.
However, the Muslin Jihadist  state right out that they are terrorizing non-Muslins in God's name.

Life in my little neck of the woods.

When I came back inside to
write this post, there was a robin singing right outside my window.
Just as happy as can be.

Today I will focus on the goodness and peace that God has blessed our family with and keeping all those who are suffering in prayer in my heart, give it all to
God.

Matthew 9:36
"When he saw the crowd, he had compassion for them, because their problems were so great and they didn't know what to do or where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd."

Yes, I agree with you. The term is an oxymoron and cannot, by definition, apply.

What a beautiful garden scene you've shared this morning. It just makes one want to pause and be reflective.

Have a blessed day!

Politics and the concomitant labelling have become very strange.

Flowers and nature are very soothing to me Vee and I always find them at your place.

Yes The note, when we place our hearts with the hearts of others suffering and suffer with them, that is compassion.

AC it is best for me to stay away from politics but can't ignore such horror.

There will always be fanatics on one side or another - there have always been. I believe that the best we can do is pray, lead good and decent lives and try to bring those that are on the margins in closer to us.

I totally agree about the news. What really makes me mad is that the news will show this awful persons picture 100 times a day, just giving him the power he was demanding. Why not show the victims pictures 100 times a day! Show them to the world, so everyone can see what was taken that day. Why show this maniac all the time?

The media is very biased if you ask me. Which is why I don't watch the news at all.

Awesome post!!

I started to comment and found myself on a soap box - suffice it to say, it's a sad, sad world. And even sadder when Christians do not act within the spirit of Christ, even while they say they are doing just that.

Pondsi, Daniella and Peg. Thanks so much for adding to this discussion. I tell myself everyday I will not watch the news. I have plenty of more inspiring things to do, but sometimes get sucked in.
