Friday Shoot Out
Churches or Houses of Worship
These words from Doreen of the FSO team
encouraged me to look at several different aspects of this topic.
"You will find that you can pray anytime, anywhere, anyhow. It may help to be in a place where the focus is on spirituality (such as a church or temple) or where the environment reminds you of your spiritual bond (like a natural setting, or a spot with a big view). You can choose to pray in the presence of others, or you can pray privately."
St. Vincent de Paul
Nazareth, Kentucky
Next to my home, this is my favorite place in our town to be.
You have seen it from every angle.

Mary's Prayer Garden
Little chapel built on the back of the farm at Nazareth in the 1800's so the farmers could worship without coming miles back to the big church.

Bernheim Arbotorium
down the road from my house.

Many weddings take place here.

Such peaceful spots. Beautiful!
the prayer garden is really the best. a simple place to sit quiet and pass your thoughts along.
This place is very beautiful. You can truly pray in the serenity of the setting!
What beautiful places to worship.
Beautiful photos! :-)
i like that chapel very much, what a great idea. I was born in GA but raised in KY about 3 hours from you in Pineville KY i love all the old frame churches, my dad was a pastor and his first church was in Dewitt Ky. this church is beautiful and full of history
I was looking forward to your post this week. Somehow I knew you would do a great job with this topic and I was not disappointed. An inspired variety of shots!
Wow! That church is amazing! So beautiful!
I like your choice of places :)
It does look rather beautiful and peaceful. Thank you for sharing these pictures.
Your first photo I like it. The Grotto is very beautiful I could imagine myself there praying the rosary..and your garden which has a statue and flowers reminds me to make my own too for I wanted to have a place outside for myself. ^_^ Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful hon..just beautiful!! I love a prayer garden!! Hugs, Sarah
I just love the Prayer Garden and the cute little chapel, ideal places for quiet reflection and prayer. And I think your private prayer space is lovely, the red flowers (are they tulips?) the perfect compliment to the white statue. A lovely post!
