Friday Shoot Out- Macro shots

So today is Friday Shoot Out.
Theme-Macro shots suggested by JarieLyn

Well I finally found out how to take macro shots, at least I think I did.

Maybe someone more accomplished in photography can tell me which are and which are not, macro.
#1

 #2
#3
#4
#5
Raspberry Alley downtown
#6

 #7
Tin ceiling in one of the old shops downtown

#8
It is my understanding that if the item in the forefront is sharp, than the background should be blurry, in a true macro shot.

#9
 #10

One of my favorite restaurants
Chili's

What about it pros?
Go here for Friday Shoot Out.

I have said several times that I love history.
My art teacher recommended a documentary about art  that I watched today.

The Rape of Europa

It was about the plunder and stealing of art all across Europe by Hitler and the Nazi party.
I did not know this story.
This documentary is very sad but amazing.
And a great chance to see some of the most famous pieces of art that I did not know by name.
I had seen pictures of many of the pieces but did not know their history or the artists.

That door handle is so unique! I love eating chilli, the hotter the better.

Looks like you have mastered that new camera! I particularly like #6. Well done and may you have lots of fun with your new toy!

Love the old lamp (and I noticed the cones - so you managed to make it a seasonal one as well!)

Well, I can tell you which ones I like -- all of them. But I can't tell you which are macro. I think I'll have to research some to find out the difference between macro and close-up. And I'm glad that I'm not the only one confused by that.

What a wide variety of choices you decided to work with here, Peggy! I loved the very first picture of the succulent. It is a lovely, rich green hue, one that disappears from the garden after spring. And I am sure the squirrels in my garden would love those acorns! We are lacking oak trees here in my neck of the woods. Thank you for sharing these macro pics. I enjoyed my visit. =D

I like your Macro shots...that's something I've yet to try. I'm a little intimidated by it. I especially like your succulent plant and the acorns, but all of them look good to me.

Enjoy your weekend :-)

I like these assignments when we tackle a technique; it's fun to see how everybody views it. I like those acorns!

the problem is this.... micro is small and macro is large. but in photography macro is taking close enough to have a 1:4 of actual size.... I have read an explanation at least 5 times and still don't understand. to do the macro shot the way the photo explanations are... you have to have a special closse-up 'microscope' like lens...but your close-ups are macro enough for me.
