Theme

Holiday

When I got the idea for this I went on the internet to see what styles and shapes that were there for the menorah.
I saw many different kinds.
Some with different colored candles and I assumed that they had special meaning, such as in our advent wreath.
I found that the initial symbol was all blue and white from the Israeli flag.
The middle candle is white and is lit and then the 8 candles of the menorah are lit one day at a time from the middle candle.
The 8 candles represent the 8 days that the oil for the candles lasted after the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem.
It represents hope.
Hope and faith that God will always provide.
That is common in all faiths.

I still have Monday off before I go to work on Tuesday, right? Don't scare me like that! I need to go and read up more on the Menorah! Love that picture - beautifully done!

The other day Martha Stewart had a guest who explained Hanukkah. It's good to have a reminder that we are not so different. God is good to all of us! And why not? He is the Creator!!! Wishing you well! Cathy

Oh! Remember to join Once Upon A Time Recipe on Wednesday! Can't wait!

I love the more serious note you put to the theme Holidays..

It's very appropriate for this time of year.

Christmas is celebrated differently all over the world...thanks for reminding us of that!

QMM ~ I love this! I've always loved the silver and blue of Hannukah. And that pretty sprig at the bottom is the finishing touch!

You were a delight at Mr. Toast's tea! :)

It's fantastic the way your piece has that same soft, golden glow as candles lit in a darkened room.

This is so tender and represents the hope well! I also like the way it looks rustic almost! Very cool!
