Magpie Tales # 36

Magpie Tales
This is Willow's prompt for this week.
Give it a try.
A story, short, long, true, a poem maybe.

Drug of Choice

The outside world calls to her as she lays in her bed.
Too far away for her to reach or even see the way out.
She lays in destitute of her own making.
A shell of a woman wallowing  in her own misery.
Why,you will ask, does a human do this to themselves?
Why do we lay in suffering and sorrow and self pity?
Do we think someone will feel sorry for us?
Come to our aid and coddle and baby us back to health?
Sometimes there is no one left to do this.
They are tired of trying to move, to push, to prod.
No use.
When a whiner whines no one wants to listen after so long a time.

Pick yourself up and make that first step to the sunlight, crawl if you have to.
Just get there, lift your face to the edge of the window.
The first touch of golden warmth will release the needed neurotransmitters to restart the engine of the brain and then the brilliance of the soul with reflect back into the heart.
The strength will come for you to pull up to receive more light.
The miracle drug, the sun is free.
Let it bathe your face, your lips, your cheeks, your hands.
It is there for the taking.
Take your medicine daily
per order of the Heavenly Healer.

What a beautiful solution you have here for the depressed and lonely. Unfortunately there are many wolves in sheep's clothing out there only too happy to substitute their false love for the real sunlight of the spirit. This destroys everyone including the person who thinks they have been saved. Your writing obviously stirred up a lot in me this morning. Loved this Magpie.

I have to admit that I'm not a fan of summer, but I certainly dabble in 'winter's drug' - same effect!

Wonderful Magpie!
