Vintage Thingie Thursday-James Bond

When my children were small, during the sixties and seventies, I was so busy I subscribed to a book club.
Do you remember the book clubs and album clubs?
I guess there are still movie and DVD clubs.
When you sign up you get to select so many free, after that they send you a monthly brochure with the highlighted book, album or whatever and you have a certain date to respond or it automatically comes to you.
Most of those albums and books went the way of the yard sales or consignment shops.
Well a few years ago my IT son, who has been a computer geek for many years and one of the first customers for eBay collecting old toys, etc,
Sent me these for Christmas.

When my son was  young I had gotten all of the James Bond books by Ian Fleming and he had read them.
I had  them all at one time.
Son said he tried to find more, but was unable to do so.
He was so proud that he had found these for me.

I plan to hang on to these for several years.

Go here to see other great VTT stories.

I remember reading the Bond books in paperback. It would probably be fun to read them again.

I remember James Bond very well from the movies. I have not read any of these books. I read a lot, but none of these.

Old books are fun! We were part of the old book club over the years - off and on! Not sure where they all are - but I think some slipped into our last garage sale before we moved in here!

I have vague memories of a record club -- or maybe we just thought about joining.

I've seen all the James Bond movies but have never read the books.

Happy VTT!

Speaking of James Bond...My kids know how much I enjoy a "Bond Movie." When I had my gall bladder removed 10 years ago, Jimmy went out and bought me a boxed set of the movies and he told me they would improve my healing process...I think he was right! Have a grand day!! Cathy

The thing about these book or record clubs, most of the time I let the respond date slip by and would end up getting books I didn't even want. Once you had them you had them.

Yes I remember the book clubs in the 70's. I had a membership for about 3 years, finally had to quit-no room for storage.
